Taqa owns a 40% stake in the Al Dhafra solar project, while Masdar holds 20%, with the remaining 40% owned by EDF Renewables and Jinko Power. The solar facility, located 35 km from Abu Dhabi, covered more than 20 square kilometers and generated 4,500 jobs during construction.
The project set a new record-low tariff and demonstrated significant progress in solar power efficiency, innovation, and cost competitiveness. The UAE, hosting the COP28 climate conference, is investing heavily in renewable energy, with a target of net-zero emissions by 2050.
The Al Dhafra project contributes to the country's efforts to create a sustainable and diversified energy mix.
